We received this ant farm as a Christmas gift from grandmom and have had a wonderful time watching the ants make their tunnels. The ants did take a long time to arrive, but I think it was probably because it was still cold in many parts of the country when we ordered them. (It would have been nice if they could have at least sent a confirmation post card letting us know why there was a delay.) The good news - all the ants were alive and active and started tunneling the first night we had them. I have 2 girls age 3 and 5 and they were fascinated with this . . . it's been about a month now and they are losing interest, but they were very in to them for the first 2+ weeks.

I had an Uncle Milton's Ant Farm in college, and thought it was terrific. I ordered this for my stepson for Christmas, knowing that he would get a kick out of it. The first thing you need to realize is that this edition is about half the size of the normal one. It does have the size in the specifications, but I still didn't realize this until I got it.

I ordered the ants, and 3 months later they have not arrived. I was low on checks so I paid for the shipping charge with a money order. I wish I had used a check so that I would know if/when they cashed it. All I know is 3 months have gone by without a single word from them. My youngest son broke the farm last night. I'm in a dilemma because I don't want to waste any more money on this product, but I sure don't want to open up the mailbox to a vial of ants if I don't have the farm....
An Ant Farm with No Ants

The ant farm was very slow in arriving. When it did arrive, there were no ants. I did order the ants. It is almost 2 months now and they still have not arrived. My grandson is very disappointed.
Too bad it doesn't come with the ants!

I'm having a lot of fun with it. Very educational, but it took 2 weeks for me to get the ants and cost me extra $10 for me to really enjoy the toy, after all It is very good, but too bad it doesn't come with the ants.

When I got the vintage ant farm , it came with some white sand to use it it . I went in my back yard , and found some ants to put in it . The next day the ants were all dead . This happened three times . I wrote to the company asking why this might be happening , because I thought the white sand might have been the cause , but they did not respond . I don't know anybody that has an ant farm , and I thought it would be interesting to have one . Oh , Well ! GB
